Golden Guardian Disaster Exercises.

This year’s Office of Homeland Security Golden Guardian Exercise planned for November 14, 2007 exercise will focus on local, “boots on the ground” play. The OES State and Regional emergency operations centers will not be opened. EMSA will participate in a new role with an advance element of the new Mission Support Team to interact with Operational Area and Incident Commanders in simulating the process for request and support of state medical assets. The Golden Guardian’s exercise common theme this year is Large Stadium Initiative (LSI) – mass gathering venues and Mass Transit Initiative (MTI) – mass transit systems. The initial concept is for coordinated terrorist attacks of LSI and MTI. The exercise is planned for three locations; Coastal Region (San Jose/Santa Clara), Inland Region (Stockton/San Joaquin County) and Southern Region (Anaheim/Santa Ana/Orange County). READ SOURCE
